Times have changed dramatically for HIV-positive individuals in North America.

In the 1980's and 1990's, AIDS sufferers were the victims of rampant discrimination in North America. With the initial association of AIDS with the homosexual community, a highly marginalized group during this time, AIDS sufferers were often the targets of violence and hate. However, with a greater education of the public, times seem to have changed dramatically. It has become more socially and legally unacceptable to discriminate against AIDS sufferers. However, many people would argue that covert prejudices still run rampant. Do you think there is still the stigma against AIDS sufferers or HIV-positive individuals in North America. Start a discussion and let me know what you think!
