From August 13-18, Toronto will be hosting the XVI International AIDS conference which will draw delegates from around the world in countless fields of expertise. The theme of the conference is "Time to Deliver" which calls for accountability for committments already made on the issues of treatment, prevention, and care. No doubt this will be an exciting opportunity to learn about the latest scientific research on AIDS as well as more about the social implications of the AIDS pandemic, including educational and human rights aspects. Hopefully the conference can achieve its goals of drawing more attention and resources to this disease as well as destigmatizing AIDS sufferers.
